Leadership Evolved

Student leadership has been part of Mr. Kleve’s classroom for years. Across the South Sioux City years, student leadership grew in different ways; at Lewis & Clark, the formal Student Leadership Council gave students opportunities to lead through service, responsibility, and community involvement. At Winnebago, The BAGO Mic expanded that idea by making student voice, confidence, communication, listening, and storytelling part of the whole-class experience.

The approach evolved. The purpose remained: help students find their voice, become leaders, and understand that they can change the world.

Community Voices

The BAGO Mic does not speak for the Winnebago community. It gives students a chance to add their voices to a much larger community of Winnebago voices and to learn from peers, elders, fluent speakers, veterans, artists, athletes, families, and other community members when those opportunities are available.
