Hi, everyone.
Welcome to The BAGO Mic, powered by student voice, where students lead the way.
We are students from Winnebago Public Schools, broadcasting from the Winnebago Reservation in Winnebago, Nebraska. This podcast is created by us, for the world.
Let’s start by introducing ourselves.
My name is Kade.
My name is Kristin.
My name is Trevor.
My name is Nick.
My name is Xailei.
Today’s episode is about things we care about.
Before we begin, we want to share something we’re thankful for.
I’m thankful for my coaches.
I’m thankful for my life.
I’m thankful for my family.
I’m thankful for my dog.
I’m thankful for my school.
Now let’s get into it. Once again, the topic we are talking about is things we care about—something in your life that really matters to you.
What Matters to Us
One thing that matters to me is my German shepherd.
I like running around and playing with my dog. I like playing catch.
One thing that matters to me is my mom.
She gives me responsibility, helps me with things, and makes sure I have what I need—like food, water, and the things that help me each day.
My family matters to me.
They take care of me and help me with what I need for school.
My sister matters to me.
She has been with me my whole life, and we help each other.
My dog matters to me.
We play catch, and my dog chases me when I’m holding a ball.
A person who matters to me is my dad.
He helps me get what I need for sports and drives me places.
My family matters to me because they show love and support, and they celebrate special days with me.
My dad means a lot to me because he helped me when I got hurt one time.
What We Feel Responsible For
Something I feel responsible for is my puppies.
I keep them safe and take care of them.
I take responsibility for my phone.
I feel responsible for my baby sister.
I want to make sure she stays safe and doesn’t get lost.
Something I take responsibility for is my room.
I clean it so it doesn’t get messy, and so it stays a healthy, clean place.
Places That Are Special to Us
A place that’s special to me is my house.
I can do a lot of things there, and when it snows, I can go sledding on a big hill.
A place that’s special to me is my grandma’s house.
My home is special to me because I feel safe there, and it’s where my family is.
My grandpa’s place is special to me because he passed away, and I didn’t get to say goodbye.
A special place to me is the graveyard because someone in my family passed away, and it reminds me to remember them.
Things We Love Doing
Something I love doing is playing football outside in the yard because I’m good at it and I like it.
I like playing outside because I get to do a lot of things.
I love my dogs because they learn new tricks.
They can do things like “paw,” “sit,” and “lay down.”
Something I love doing is playing with my dog.
Something I love doing is spending time with my little cousins.
What Caring Teaches Us
My dog teaches me.
My oldest sister teaches me how to do things—like math and other stuff.
My dad teaches me how to turn wrenches, and I want to learn more skills too.
My cats teach me responsibility, like taking out the trash and cleaning the litter box.
How We Show Care
We show care by taking out the trash and helping people with chores.
Doing dishes and cleaning the house is a way to help.
I try to take care of the environment by not littering and not polluting.
I try to clean up and do my part to help make the world better.
I helped an old lady when she dropped her groceries.
