I Need a Reset
A reset is not quitting. It is a short pause that helps you return with a better next move.
1. Notice What Is Happening
- I am rushing.
- I am frustrated.
- I am distracted.
- I am reacting before I think.
- I am stuck in a bad start.
2. Use a 60-Second Reset
- Stop. Put down what you are doing for a moment.
- Breathe and look around. Give your brain a chance to catch up.
- Name it. “Right now I’m feeling/doing ________.”
- Choose. “My next useful move is ________.”
- Return. Start with one small action.
3. Reset the Situation, Not Just Yourself
Sometimes your environment needs a change too. Move a distraction, organize the materials, close an extra tab, get water, change seats if allowed, or ask for a short break.
Try It
You have been working for ten minutes but keep switching tabs and have barely started. What would your 60-second reset look like?
💡 Funky Tip
A reset should help you return. If the “break” makes it harder to come back, it probably was not a useful reset.
I am unstoppable.
You can have a rough moment without giving the whole day away.
🎒 Take It With You
