Make the Group Better
Your job in a group is not only to finish your own part. It is to help the group work better.
1. Look at the Group, Not Just Yourself
- Does everyone know the goal?
- Is the work balanced?
- Are people contributing in different ways?
- Is the group actually making progress?
2. Choose a Contribution
You might organize, explain, encourage, question, summarize, check details, keep the group on task, or invite another perspective.
3. Avoid the Two Traps
Trap 1: Do nothing and wait.
Trap 2: Take over because it feels faster.
Try It
One student is doing almost all the work while two others have stopped participating. What could you do that improves the group without embarrassing anyone?
💡 Funky Tip
The best contribution is not always the loudest one. Sometimes the group needs a question, a summary, a calm voice, or someone who notices what is missing.
I can change the world.
Groups change when people decide to contribute differently.
🎒 Take It With You
Ask: “What does this group need from me right now?”
