Hi everyone. Welcome to The BAGO Mic, where student voice leads the way. We are students from Winnebago, Nebraska, broadcasting from the Winnebago Reservation. This podcast is created by us, for the world.

Let’s start by introducing ourselves.

My name is Katsumi.

My name is Lorraine.

My name is Etta.

Today’s episode is called Things That Make Us Happy.

Before we begin, we want to share something we’re thankful for.

I’m thankful for the Earth.

I’m thankful for my home and my food.

I’m thankful for my body and being able to move.

Now let’s get into our topic: things that make us happy.

Etta, what’s a song that makes you happy?

A song that makes me happy is Wheels on the Bus.

That’s a really good one. A lot of people grew up listening to that.

Katsumi, what’s your favorite TV show or movie?

It’s kind of embarrassing, but I really like anime, especially Demon Slayer.

That’s actually really cool. A lot of people like that show.

Etta, can you ask Lorraine a question?

Sure. Lorraine, who is someone that makes you happy?

My siblings.

How many siblings do you have?

I have eight siblings.

That’s a lot. Do they all make you happy?

Yes, but my older sister makes me the happiest.

That’s really sweet.

Now here’s a question: what’s something you see every day that makes you happy?

My sisters. Seeing them every day makes me happy.

Etta, what makes you smile every day?

The sky.

That’s a good one. The sky can be really beautiful, especially when the sun is setting.

Katsumi, what’s a place that makes you feel calm or happy?

My home.

What part of your home?

The kitchen.

Why the kitchen?

Because of the food.

What’s your favorite food?

Mac and cheese.

That’s a popular one.

Etta, what’s a moment this year that made you really happy?

This year, I felt really happy when we gave food to a homeless man. He smiled and gave me a high five.

That’s a really powerful moment. Helping others can make you feel really good.

Katsumi, what helps boost your mood when you’re feeling mad?

Honestly, eating.

What do you like to eat?

Anything that tastes good.

Lorraine, what’s a character that makes you happy?

Bluey.

Is that from the show Bluey?

Yes. I also have a baby nephew who loves watching it, and seeing him happy makes me happy too.

That’s really sweet.

What do you do to calm down when you’re stressed?

Eating again.

What do you eat?

Usually Takis.

Etta, what’s your favorite school subject?

Art and writing.

Those are great choices.

Katsumi, do you have a favorite character from a movie or show?

Yes. Tsuyu from My Hero Academia.
