WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

What we believe about ourselves matters.

Learning.
Leading.
Growing.

I can do hard things!

I am unstoppable!

I matter!

I am smart!

I can change the world!

Think Like a Designer

Designers create for people. A solution can look impressive and still fail if it does not work well for the person using it.

The Challenge

Your classroom needs a new system for students to turn in papers quickly without crowding, confusion, or lost work. Design it.

How a Designer Thinks

  • Understand the user: Who uses this, and what is difficult for them now?
  • Define the need: What problem matters most?
  • Generate: What are several possible ideas?
  • Prototype: What simple version can I test?
  • Observe: Where do people hesitate, struggle, or make mistakes?
  • Improve: What change would make the experience easier or clearer?

Your Turn

Sketch two different turn-in systems. Test each by imagining 25 students using it at the same time.

What Did You Notice?

Which design looks good but might be frustrating to use? What did thinking about the user change?

💡 Funky Tip

Do not ask only, “Do people like it?” Watch what actually happens when they use it.

Where Else Could You Use This Thinking?

Apps, websites, signs, classrooms, products, buildings, games, instructions, services, and anything people have to use or understand.

🎒 Take It With You

Understand people → define the need → prototype → observe → improve.
