Think Like a Leader
Leaders pay attention to people, purpose, consequences, and what the moment needs next.
The Challenge
Your group is behind on a project. One person wants to rush and finish, one wants to start over, and another has stopped participating. What do you do first?
How a Leader Thinks
- Notice: What is really happening?
- Listen: What perspectives and needs are present?
- Purpose: What are we actually trying to accomplish?
- Consequences: Who will be affected by each choice?
- Choose: What move helps people and the work move forward?
- Reflect: What effect did the choice have?
Your Turn
Write the first three things you would do or say. Explain why that order matters.
What Did You Notice?
Was your first instinct to solve the task, manage the people, or understand the situation? What did you miss at first?
💡 Funky Tip
Leadership is not automatically being the person with the answer. Sometimes the best move is a question, an invitation, a boundary, or helping someone else contribute.
Where Else Could You Use This Thinking?
Teams, classrooms, families, clubs, workplaces, community groups, projects, and everyday situations where your choices affect other people.
🎒 Take It With You
Notice → listen → protect the purpose → choose → reflect.
